Shanna Carn is the President and Lead Operator of Empire Termite & Pest Control, a woman-owned pest management company serving the Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio region. She leads the company with a proactive, compliance-driven approach focused on commercial, hospitality, and multifamily housing properties.
Empire specializes in preventative service programs, termite inspections and treatments, rodent exclusion, bed bug management, wildlife exclusion, unit-turn services, seasonal pest forecasting, and emergency response. Rather than relying on reactive treatments, Shanna emphasizes early detection, structural exclusion, sanitation correction, and detailed documentation to reduce long-term pest pressure and liability.
She works closely with property managers, maintenance supervisors, and regional leaders to create customized pest management plans that protect reputation, support regulatory compliance, and improve operational efficiency. By maintaining direct involvement in client oversight, she ensures rapid response times, clear communication, and consistent service standards.
In addition to her structural pest management work, Shanna serves as a Sub-Licensee for rabies vector species under Second Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation. This state-authorized role involves assisting in the lawful handling and rehabilitation of raccoons, skunks, bats, and foxes while adhering to strict public health and disease-control protocols.
Her combined experience in pest management and wildlife rehabilitation provides a comprehensive understanding of zoonotic risk, wildlife behavior, and humane exclusion practices.
