Event Details

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), at the direction of the President, filed an Order in the Federal Register to temporarily halt residential evictions to prevent the further spread of COVID-19. The Order, which went into effect on September 4, temporarily bars evictions of certain qualified renters in residential housing until December 31, 2020.

To help unpack the order, the GDAA will conduct a free seminar with Dimitri Hatzifotinos and Solomon Parani of Willis Law Firm.

We will also discuss the $5 million in CARES Act funding allocated by the Montgomery County commissioners and CARES Act Community Service Block Grant funding for Darke, Greene, and Preble County residents. This aid may include paying all rent owed and future rent extending to the end of the year. Every Montgomery County household at any income level is eligible for assistance.
