Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is modern-day slavery in which human beings are treated as possessions to be controlled and exploited.  Human trafficking is a grave human rights abuse and public safety issue.  It promotes breakdown of families and communities, fuels organized crime, undermines public health and imposes large economic costs

Tonya is the Co-Founder of a national anti-sex trafficking organization, professional speaker, researcher and advocate.  Ms. Folks has been a part of the anti-trafficking movement in Ohio since inception. She’s worked with local, state and federal investigators and educated thousands of people on the unique characteristics of both labor and sex trafficking in the Miami Valley, as well as law enforcements efforts to combat it.
