Rent Foundation

The GDAA Rent Foundation is an entity of the Greater Dayton Apartment Association (GDAA).

The Greater Dayton Apartment Association is a professional trade association representing the multi-family housing industry. Our mission is to provide educational resources promoting apartment management professionalism so they may better serve the apartment home leasing public. The organization was founded in 1981 by a group of concerned apartment owners and managers. The GDAA represents the interests of over 33,000 apartment homes in the Miami Valley region surrounding and including Dayton, Ohio. Its primary funding resource is from dues paid by its continuing members. These members are individuals, companies and corporations which own and manage multi-family housing and who also provide products and services for the apartment industry.

The GDAA Rent Foundation was founded in 1993 as a charitable organization to provide financial assistance to the rental public and to promote affordable housing. It is a separate corporation and is funding through charitable contributions of the members of the Greater Dayton Apartment Association. The Rent Foundation is administered by the staff of the GDAA.

The GDAA Rent Foundation assists Miami Valley residents who rent their home and through illness or tragedy cannot make their next payment. If you are in need of assistance please click here for further information.

The GDAA Rent Foundation Assists Promenade of Beavercreek Fire Victims

The GDAA Rent Foundation provided all nineteen of the families whose belongings were destroyed by a fire at the Promenade of Beavercreek $50 gift certificates from Meijers. The GDAA Rent Foundation Board presented these certificates to residents on Friday, August 21st.

The building was struck by lighting which caused the blaze. All twenty two apartment homes were heavily damaged mostly by water and smoke, affecting nineteen families. There were no injuries to residents or their pets. Remarkably after the fire was extinguished a cat and a parrot were rescued, unharmed. Most residents lost absolutely everything. One resident gathered her pet dog and walked out of the building in bare feet – losing all she owned. The GDAA Rent Foundation Board spoke to one of the victims who said she and her boyfriend lost absolutely everything but were so grateful for the outpouring of help. She said, “People don’t understand – every little thing helps.” The GDAA Rent Foundation will accept monetary donations for the Promenade of Beavercreek fire victims. Please contact Bobbisue Gabrielson at (513) 469-8818 or the GDAA office at (937) 293-1170.
